The New Moon signifies a new beginning, a cosmic rest. Set new goals.
The Full Moon is time of illumination/clarity and a time to release that which no longer serves up.
This is a great meditation to reset and regenerate with the sound of the gong.
About the Gong Meditation
- We will begin seated and tune-in by singing/chanting the Adi Mantra and the MangalaCharan. Approx. 10 min
- Then we lay down and create a comfy spot. It is suggested to bring a yoga mat or blanket and something to cover up with, depending upon the time of the year and your natural body temperature. Your normal temperature will drop after laying down.
- I will then play the gong. When I am finished, I will cue you to breathe deeply, to return to your body. To come back slowly, to take your time. We do not want to jar our nervous systems. We will then come to a seated position with our eyes closed. We will finish by chanting the Mantra Sat Naam. Chanting the mantra, Sat Naam, awakens your soul to your destiny.
- Doors open 15 min. early and are locked right on time. Due to Covid restriction, space is limited, so please reserve your place by text me (406)-794-9519. On the day of the meditation, if you cannot make it, please text me, so that I can allow any callers on the cancellation list to attend. (406)-794-9519
More Information about the Gong and the Event
I will be using a Paiste Planetary Earth gong. The Earth Gong is tuned to the sound of AUM, a frequency of 136.1 hz, which resonates with the Earth and has been associated with light, warmth and joy. Those who use this frequency often experience a calming sensation sometimes described as centering, meditative or just relaxing.
This tone corresponds to the meditative “OM” or the “Amen” said in Christian churches. It is easy to see, therefore, that this frequency can bring out strong spiritual sensations.
Its color is green/blue and the same as the heart Chakra is the Heart (4th). The Earth Gong coaxes us into harmony with our mother planet and the movement of the Earth, subconsciously reminding our being of their Circadian Rhythm.
This instrument creates a unique blend of vibration, sound and undertones, capable of creating transformation on all levels — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. This type of sound bath combines various techniques, creating opportunities to release old patterns, create new ones and “shed” energetic debris.
When we relax this way and release stress, the opportunity exists for profound transformation. Our physical body will send oxygen and energy into whatever needs healing, our mind calms down, and a general feeling of peace comes over us. In the end, you leave feeling relaxed and energetically cleansed.
Called sound therapy or gong therapy, the gong is the latest trend in therapeutic and complementary forms of medicine for cancer and trauma survivors.
During the meditation, some people can meditate deeply. Others will relax deeply into a quiet yet present awareness. Some people go into a trans-like state and see colors and visions. Some people might snore, remember this is their experience, they are very relaxed, they are probably not actually sleeping. You may feel and release old emotions. Try to not connect a story to your emotions. If tears come, let them flow. Tears are a sacred release. They are just that, they are not the story.
If this is your first gong experience it is helpful to ride the sound wave of the gong. Like a Tsunami wave it is best to ride, to stay on top of the wave. It is expected that the gong will have an effect on your breathing, do not let this frighten you. Ride the wave. The gong can get very loud, do not worry, the sound of the gong does not negatively affect your hearing like a rock concert.
If you must move your body, or use the restroom, do so quietly so as not to disturb your neighbor.
